Dominican Republic
Photo Album
The Dominican Republic side of the island is a much more stable country
with the people having a much better life style; although they too have their
areas of the very poverty stricken poor.

In 1995, God began to speak to our hearts about the Haitian people who
had fled from Haiti to the Dominican Republic to try to find a better life for
themselves.   And in 1996, God expanded our ministry over into the
Dominican Republic to begin ministering to the Haitian people there also.

We are working in the Barahona area where there are over 250,000
Haitians living and working in the banana gardens, sugar cane fields,
coffee plantations, and tomato gardens.   They live in villages called
Bateys which are government owned land.   The government allows them
to construct small dwellings there to live in,   These Bateys, are located in
many areas throughout the country of the Dominican Republic.

Even though these Haitians have come to the Dominican Republic side of
the island to find work, and a better life style, there greatest need is still
Christ.
