Outreach/Disaster Relief
During the time of the earthquake several love gifts were given toward helping the Haitian people in their
time of tragedy . We bought and distributed over 16 tons of rice, beans, oil, etc. Care boxes were given to
the people who were in the hospitals being treated for injuries. When they were released they received a
box or sack filled with food, clothes, shoes, a tarp or tent for temporary housing when they returned to
Haiti. We also put in their care package sheets, towels, a large pot for cooking along with utensils, 6 plates,
6 spoons, 6 glasses, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes, etc. These are just the basics
that they needed just to get started. They received a sleeping bag, flashlight with batteries and a small
mattress that could be rolled up. Even with the things that we have provided, this gesture will not truly be
sufficient to meet their needs. Some of these people have lost a leg or an arm, in many cases both, and
have suffered permanent back injuries. We praise God, that through these efforts, there have been 79
people come to know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. As more and more Haitians flood the borders
of the Dominican Republic every week, we continue to seek them out and witness to them daily in hopes that
we will see even more saved. Please pray with us about this. We have delivered crutches, wheelchairs,
walkers, canes and a ton of hospital equipment to the various hospitals and clinics which has in turn been a
tremendous blessing for these victims and they were very, very thankful. God bless you who have given
toward these needs. Please continue to pray that God would give us wisdom as we continue to help the
Haitian people.
