Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,
“STANDING AT THE DOOR OF THEIR HEARTS”
REV 3:20
It is amazing to me how God works. We have our daily routines, but God has His eternal plan. Pastor Richa was blessed as
God’s plan unfolded before his eyes. He was preaching during chapel to the children at the school in Batey #5. He shared
with me how he prayed and asked God to open the hearts of the children as he preached to them. The invitation was given
and not one from the school came forward to be saved. But, there were 5 children listening outside the window whose
hearts were open to the preaching of God’s Word. They came and ask Pastor Richa if they could be saved. We praise the
Lord that God was “STANDING AT THE DOOR OF THEIR HEARTS” when they opened unto Him.
HANGING BY A THREAD
Brother Louie was saved in 1998, in the second church that was started in the Dominican Republic. Since that day he has
prayed for his friend Ti Gout (Tea Goot), which means Small Amount. Ti Gout wanted nothing to do with the Lord as he
was deep into voodoo. But Brother Louie continued to pray, asking God to save him. While HANGING BY A THREAD on his
death bed he called for Brother Louie and Pastor Richa. Within minutes Ti Gout was saved. Brother Louie’s faithfulness in
prayer was rewarded with the salvation of his best friend. Pastor Richa said that they stayed with Ti Gout and rejoiced
with him over his salvation decision until his home going only 3 hours later. Thank God salvation doesn't have to be worked
out over time but is received the moment someone accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior. (Rom 10:9-13)
MARY’S UPDATE
This month, when Mary’s blood work came back, the results were not quite as good as we had prayed for but were still
not bad! Her hemoglobin went from 13.7 to 12.2, the hematocrat from 39.8 to 36.8. Even though her red count went down
a little, the doctors said that was not uncommon, and they are still in the lower normal range. Her platelets jumped from
124 to 136 which they were excited about, and her white blood cells remained the same at 3.5. The doctors want them at
least 4.0 but were thrilled that they did not go down. Then finally her absolute neutrophils, which is the part of the white
blood cells that fight off infection, went from 1.6 to 2.0. So we are rejoicing that God is still working His miracles. The
doctors want all of her counts to be in the normal range for three months straight before they let us return to the
mission field. So please keep praying, Amen!
Your Servants For Souls,
Bro. Bob and Mary Johnston
